Test an affiliate or referral program (for free)

Using just a UTM builder and Google Sheets, you can test both of these growth channels for free.

I recently tested a referral program for Reflect. Off-the-shelf solutions were pricey and overly complex. I just needed to track conversions from unique links sent to a test group.

So, I built a scrappy version using Google's UTM link generator and Google Sheets.

It's working well, so I went through how I built and ran the test. An affiliate program with commission percentages instead of rewards might be next. This typically works well for recruiting content creators.
